The Croft School Community is a group of parents who organise fund raising and social events to support the school.
The parents have a passion to improve not only their child’s time at school, but the experiences of the rest of the pupils here. This is done by raising funds through social events and activities to purchase equipment and resources.
An original title would have named this group the PTA; however, in the drive to create an engaging environment for all families of the school, the name Croft School Community was born.
Croft School Community is registered with Parentkind.org.uk (bringing together home and school), they will also register with the Charity Commission. ParentKind provides a model constitution which sets procedures and guidelines to follow, with four roles forming a committee which are made up of parents at the school.
The committee members meet regularly both inside and outside of school. Dates and information are published via school newsletters, emails, and social media. Each of the committee members have children attending throughout the school.
The Community is open to all and are always looking for volunteers to be involved as much as one is able. The main opportunities to get involved are setting up and supporting the stalls, serving refreshments, collecting donations, and tidying up after events. There is a large amount of gratitude to all the support shown by parents, families, and staff of the school.
The aim is to keep all parents informed of the ways in which we can enhance the children’s experiences, providing updates about fundraising activities, how much has been raised, and where the money has been spent. Communication is key in ensuring the longevity and effectiveness of the Croft School Community.
The current goal is fundraising to update/enhance the current playground with interactive opportunities for children of all ages.
There are various activities planned throughout the year, the busiest periods of activities are held during the Summer and Christmas months.
